Hello Lisa, welcome to BooksChatter.

What was the inspiration for A Matter of Time?

"A big inspiration for A MATTER OF TIME was Dante’s The Divine Comedy, specifically, the Inferno canto.  It took a lot of reading and deciphering to get a feel for the inspiration I needed, but it was well worth the effort."
Dante's Inferno is a very special piece of work indeed, I am thrilled that you have explored it.

How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?

"All the characters in A MATTER OF TIME go through a trial of some kind.  I left no character the same as when the trilogy began.  I feel a lot of that change within me as well.  I grew as an author and as a person while writing these books.  Rayna truly finds her strength. I’d like to think I have as well."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover.  Can you tell us about your cover for A Matter of Time - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"While I’d love to take credit for the beauty that is the cover of A MATTER OF TIME, alas, I cannot.  My publisher worked with the designer, Stephanie Mooney and knocked out all three covers at once. *stares at the pretties*"
They are rather nice :-)

Why should we read A Matter of Time and the Angel Sight sereis, what sets it apart from the rest?

"The Angel Sight series is sometimes awesome, sometimes sexy, almost always dark, and occasionally funny.  It stars two fairly hot boys with wings and a main character that wants nothing more than to kick butt."
Can you tell us something quirky about A Matter of Time, its story and characters?
"The main character’s name, Rayna (she often goes by Ray), was originally chosen because I wanted her to grow into a ray of light in this series.  Also, the first third of A MATTER OF TIME was a wildly different book when I first wrote it.  Almost the entire portion had to be rewritten before I even finished the first draft.

Curious about what changed?  The special edition paperback features a few of the deleted scenes."
Who would you recommend A Matter of Time and the Angel Sight series to, and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"The Angel Sight series isn’t just for YA readers.  Lovers of a good story, compelling characters, and one heck of a journey will love these books.  I do enjoy a dark story, so all three of the books do contain unsavory elements not suited for much younger readers.  If this series were to be rated as a motion picture, I would rate it PG-13."
If you could / wished to turn A Matter of Time and the Angel Sight series into a movie, who would be your dream team?
"I could see Emma Roberts doing the role of Rayna justice.

In my mind, Kade has always been this striking model named Alban Rassier.  Casting him as another actor isn’t something I can picture, but maybe the readers have someone in mind?

As for Cam, I’d love Alex Pettyfer to play him.  He’s dreamy.

For filming, the bulk of the scenes would have to take place in San Francisco, where the majority of the book is set.  For some of the more fantastical settings, I could see needing a green screen set and lots of fun CGI."
What do you like to write and read about?  Do you stick to a particular genre or do you like to explore different ones?
"Within the last few years the bulk of my reading and writing has been centered around YA. However, I do like experimenting with different genres within those parameters.  I have ideas for sci-fi, fantasy, contemporary, and horror.  One day I hope to find the time to write each of these books—and more."
What is your writing process?
"For me, every book I write is different.  I do like to start with a solid base, characters, goals, tensions, and some ideas for plot.  From there I do some exploratory writing to find character voices and the right jumping off point for each POV."
What is in store next?
"Currently, I’m working on unique take on YA Sci-fi.  Unfortunately, I can’t share much about it yet, as I’m still in the drafting phase, but I hope one day soon to be able to share more about it with readers."
And as a final quirky thing, to get to know you a little bit better... do you have a pet or something that is special to you (this could be absolutely anything!)? Could you please provide us with a picture of you with them / it?

"An artsy selfie with Kitty A (because she’s classy like that).

And photobombing Kitty B while she’s deep in one of her face-smash snoozes."
Love them!  Thank you for sharing them with us (they really remind me of two cats I used to have).   And thank you again for talking to us!  Have a great tour and Paperback Release Day!
"Thank you so much for having me!"
