Synopsis
Almost two years ago the sleepy little community of Dogleg Island was the scene of one of the most brutal crimes in Florida history. The only eye witnesses were a border collie puppy and a police officer. Since that time Flash has grown from a puppy into a vital part of the Dogleg Island Police Department, and has lived happily with the two people who rescued him on that horrible night: Deputy Sheriff Ryan Grady and Police Chief Aggie Malone. Now the trial of the century is about to begin. The defendant, accused of slaughtering his parents in their beach home, maintains his innocence. Aggie and Ryan, the top witnesses for the prosecution, know he is lying. But only Flash knows the truth.
And with another murder to solve, a tangle of conflicting evidence to sort out, and a brutal storm on the way, the truth may come too late... for all of them.
Teaser: Excerpt
Flash had one job: to take care of Aggie. He knew this because Grady told him so, almost every day. Take care of my girl, big guy. and Keep an eye on Aggie, will you, bud? In fact, the first thing he ever remembered Grady saying to him was, I’m counting on you, little guy. Take care of Aggie. He never forgot his instructions, but the fact was that Aggie needed a lot less taking care of than Grady thought she did. In fact, Flash had observed that it seemed to be Aggie's job to take care of everyone else on the island, which meant it was Flash's job as well. So he had expanded his job description, so to speak, to include keeping track of everyone and everything on the island and making sure that he and Aggie were ready to put right anything that might have gone wrong. He knew, for example, what time the lights were supposed to come on inside each shop on Ocean Avenue, and what time they were supposed to go off. He knew what time the big yellow school bus flashed its lights at the corner of Third and Main and how many children were supposed to come out of it. Sometimes cars got impatient waiting and tried to go around the school bus before the last child had crossed the street, but they didn't try it when Flash was on duty, you could bet on that. He knew the islanders by name, and he knew the tourists by their smell-- suntan oil and rubber shoes, mostly, with the occasional hint of new spandex and chlorine swimming pools. All were equally important to him, and he hadn't missed a day of patrol since he and Aggie had moved out of the sad dark place and into the happy little house across the hedge from Grady.

I love the cover for this book - we had a border collie named Lady for over 13 years (we got her gently "used'.....lol) and she was the best dog ever though she had nice brown eyes...I love the sound of this series - and you are a new to me author - will definitely be checking out your other books (love the sound of Lady Bug Farm series). The interview was very good and very informative...thanks for the giveaway
