ℚ♫ Enticing the Boss: Passion's Price [1] - Lily Bly

Today we have the pleasure of meeting up with author to talk about Enticing the Boss (, The Wild Rose Press, Inc., 69 pages), a Contemporary Erotic Romance, book one in the Passion's Price series.

…When one weekend of catching up on work leads to feelings finally being realized and those feelings coming out explosively, it leads to one hell of a ride. If you like the hot and heavy mixed with a romance that should have been and [then] it happens, this book is definitely for you.” -Mysty from Booksprout

A beautifully written story with so much emotion that it will break your heart…The plot was just to die for, written with dual POV, which is a plus.” -Tonya-Harper-Dixie from Goodreads

A very warm welcome to Lily Bly; thank you for joining us on BooksChatter!

Lily starts us off today with her music playlist for Enticing the Boss - enjoy! (I certainly did 😉 )
What was the inspiration for Enticing the Boss?
"I like stories about unrequited love that turn into happily-ever-afters, and I like office romances, so I thought I’d combine the two in Enticing the Boss.

It started off as a very short story but developed into something longer."
How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"I see bits and pieces of myself in Jean. As you’ll see at the beginning of the story, she’s a bit obsessive-compulsive in the office. She’s very organized and detail oriented. She also loyally devotes herself to a job that, while professionally a perfect fit, hasn’t been so great for her well-being. I’ve been there."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover. Can you tell us about your cover for Enticing the Boss - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"My cover artist, Diana, is also my editor. I think she did an amazing job! She’s designed all of my covers so far.

She wove in the flowers that play a part toward the end of the story, and I love having the characters portrayed on the front. I try to steer away from the physical attribute info-dump that you see in the first few paragraphs of some romances. I like to weave it in bit by bit, but, as an avid reader at the same time, I know that we form images in our mind immediately. I hate seeing a character as one thing in my mind and then, 20 pages in, finding out they look completely different.

Plus, the cover’s pretty sexy, isn’t it? ;-) I think it’s a great teaser to what you’ll find when you read the book."
Why should we read Enticing the Boss and what sets it apart from the rest? What makes your book unique?
"The characters and unpredictable events set this novella apart from the rest.

I’ve tried to create some really likable characters in my hero and heroine. The reader is going to see both their good and bad sides. None of us are perfect in real life, and I don’t want my characters to be either.

I also combine some pretty unique elements—text messages, an Elvis impersonator, clowns, and revenge—that take Jean and David to their HEA. It’s all fun with plenty of romantic heat."
Can you tell us something quirky about Enticing the Boss , its story and characters?
"I often go way over the top in choosing names, so I decided to go simple for this series. The character’s first names are all middle names used often in my family."
Who would you recommend Enticing the Boss to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"I’d recommend this book to fans of erotic romance or erotica. It’s rated at the highest heat level. The sex is described explicitly, and there’s some rough language. However, Enticing the Boss has a developed story line and round characters as well. It’s not ALL about the sex, but there’s plenty of it there."
If you could / wished to turn Enticing the Boss and the Passion's Price series into a movie, who would be your dream team?
"I’d choose Jon Favreau to direct and Seth MacFarlane to adapt the novella for the screen.

Jon Favreau Seth MacFarlane
I’d pick Hans Zimmer to compose and direct the musical score.

Hans Zimmer

I’d love to see Amy Adams and Michael Fassbender as Jean and David and Jennifer Lawrence as Beth. (Too specific? ;-) A girl can dream, can’t she?)"

Not too specific at all! (and dreaming is good ;-) ) I generally ask this question as I like to see what authors are into when it comes to the medium of film; I love discovering new directors, actors, musicians I am not familiar with!

What do you like to write and read about? Do you stick to a particular genre or do you like to explore different ones?

"I love to read and write romance, but I tend to bounce around its subgenres. Historical romance and fantasy romance are my favorites. I love to read and write both. Contemporary is the easiest for me to plot and write. I’ll read pretty much anything except horror. I do enjoy psychological thrillers though."
What is your writing process?
"I’ve tried a number of different strategies through the years. What seems to work best for me is to develop aesthetics/inspiration collages and playlists and to keep them visible and playing while I write. I prefer to use MS Word or Scrivener for the actual manuscript.

I usually jump into my idea and start drafting dialogue and plotting scenes for as far as I can go initially. When that flow starts to slow, I’ll format a chapter layout and take a look at the overall story arc. After I’ve done that I can usually slip back in to the draft and flesh it out."
What is in store next?
"The next book in Passion’s Price is already on submission with my publisher.

Jean’s brother George is the hero. It takes place the same week as Enticing the Boss but across the country in a Colorado ski town. George falls in love with the town’s doctor, but her past complicates things. They are both single parents with teenagers, and that adds to the difficulty. Like Enticing the Boss, this next volume is an erotic romance, but it’s a longer story.

However, I’m not done with Jean and David. They’ll appear as major players in at least two more books in the series. I’m also going to dive deeper into Beth’s past and her future. She’ll star as the heroine of her own book."
And as a final quirky thing, to get to know you a little bit better... do you have a pet or something that is special to you that you could share with us?
"I have two cats, Crisco and NP. NP is a polydactyl/Hemingway cat. Occasionally, they star in memes (because yes, I’m that big of a geek ;-) Here’s part I and II:"

A polydactyl, wow!
Hello Crisco and NP, you are both absolutely gorgeous! Lots of head-scratches and belly-rubs from all of us here at BooksChatter! (BTW 18 felines are part of our gang...)
What I want to know is which one is NP!

She's got a new job...
