About the Author
John Carnahan Waite grew up in the multicultural gumbo that was New Orleans in the 1950s when local Mafioso stirred a pot flavored by gambling and prostitution and seasoned with political turmoil.He earned a degree from the University of Georgia's Henry W. Grady School of journalism in Athens, Georgia and has numerous media awards.
John lives in Pensacola, FL. where a Love for the sea lured him away from media and into the Merchant Marine where he served as a bridge officer for 20 years. He has raced sailboats across the Gulf of Mexico, chased hurricanes, reported on state and national politics, interviewed celebrities, and political bigwigs, and is a proud father of four and grandfather of five.
