A very war welcome to Kate Evangelista; thank you for joining us on BooksChatter!

To get us started, Kate Evangelista has shared with us her music playlist for No Second Chances - enjoy

What was the inspiration for No Second Chances?
"I knew that Natasha’s and Jackson’s story needed to be written the second I started writing No Love Allowed, which is the first of the trilogy. The moment the three grand gestures Jackson had to accomplish came to my mind I knew where their story was going."
How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"I love the idea of being a DJ, especially watching the Chainsmokers and David Guetta at work. They draw in thousands to dance to their music. I knew immediately that Jackson was a DJ who travelled the world performing to sold out crowds. It’s taking a current obsession and incorporating it into a new story."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover. Can you tell us about your cover for No Second Chances - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"Swoon Reads is the brainchild of the cover for all the Dodge Cove books. And if you notice, there is a theme and a similarity is style. But I must say that the NO SECOND CHANCES cover is easily my favorite. It captures the feel of the book so well. I’m obsessed with it."
Why should we read No Second Chances and what sets it apart from the rest? What makes your book unique?
"This is one of the first times when a romance novel has more than one grand gesture in the story. Jackson really has to work hard to win Natasha back after breaking her heart. All my characters in the Dodge Cove trilogy have their own stories and their own paths in life and along the way to fulfilling their dreams they find love."
Can you tell us something quirky about No Second Chances, its story and characters?
"In this book, Jackson has to stop time, defy gravity, and bring down the stars to win Natasha back. There are very few people in this world who will go the extra mile for you. When you find that person don’t ever let them go."
Who would you recommend No Second Chances to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"I would recommend this book to readers who love “the one that got away” tropes. To anyone who has ever wanted to be won back by the person who broke your heart, this is the book for you."
If you could / wished to turn No Second Chances and the Dodge Cove series into a movie, who would be your dream team?
"he director would be Ry Russo-Young who directed Before I Fall. I love the atmosphere she created in that movie.

I see Cara Delevingne playing a beautiful Natasha. I have a HUGE girl crush on Cara. She embodies a powerful, sexy woman who isn’t afraid to show her vulnerable side. She would make a great debutant.

For Jackson, I see William Moseley playing him. If you’re a fan of the Chronicles of Narnia, you already know who he is. Seeing him as a rebellious DJ? Come on! That is totally hot. And he would look so good on screen with Cara. All I can hope for is they have chemistry."
What do you like to write and read about? Do you stick to a particular genre or do you like to explore different ones?
"As long as I can inject romance into the story I’m all for exploring different genres. The only one I stay away from is horror since I don’t read much of it. I’m more into contemporary, paranormal, fantasy, and sci-fi."
What is your writing process?
"My process has changed a lot over the years. Right now I’m really into writing the first draft by hand in a big notebook. I even decorate the notebook first before I start writing. Once the first draft is done, I type it all out into my laptop and edit as I go. This part is the second draft since things change. Then I move on to showing my critique partners and beta readers. More editing. That’s the third draft. Then it’s off to my agent or editor."
What is in store next?
"I just submitted my latest novel to my editor. It tackles the “in love with my brother’s best friend” trope. I had a lot of fun writing it and I can’t wait to share it with all of you next year."
And as a final quirky thing, to get to know you a little bit better... do you have a pet or something that is special to you that you could share with us?
"I have six cats. I adopted one and she gave birth to five. I never had the heart to give away the kittens. So, as a family, they are all with me. Never once separated."

Fantastic! I know exactly how that goes... as I did it myself for the last three pregnant cats that came my way... The relationship they develop and the bond between them is absolutely amazing throughout their lives :-)  Lots of cuddles to all of them!
