A very warm welcome to Jessica Bucher; thank you for joining us on BooksChatter!
Here at BooksChatter we love music; do you have a music playlist that you used in Notes of Magic , or which inspired you whilst you were writing it?
What was the inspiration for Notes of Magic ?
Notes of Magic
Here at BooksChatter we love music; do you have a music playlist that you used in Notes of Magic , or which inspired you whilst you were writing it?
"Yes, this is a little playlist I created to accompany the series…"
"This story was inspired by my time traveling around Europe. I have always been fascinated by street performers, and I just wanted to imagine this entire secret world hidden within the city. I love magic and music and just always felt like those two things should be entwined."How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"I think my love for music, magic, and Prague is really evident in this story. This story is for dreamers, which is really encompassed in the idea of Bohemians."The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover. Can you tell us about your cover for Notes of Magic - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"I was really inspired by the covers for Caraval and This Savage Song which are both very comparable to Notes of Magic. My amazing cover designer did the rest and she is so brilliant. I’m obsessed with the end result."Why should we read Notes of Magic and what sets it apart from the rest? What makes your book unique?
"This series is unique because it’s all about music and magic, but also because the real star of this series is the “villain” who didn’t really want to be a villain while I was writing him. He decided that all on his own that he was more than just your typical bad guy. He really has a lot of heart."Can you tell us something quirky about Notes of Magic , its story and characters?
"As I mentioned above, my villain really ran away with this story. I didn’t mean for him to be so lovable, but he’s much more than your flat villain. He’s tortured, misunderstood, and makes a solid attempt at winning the heroine’s heart. "Who would you recommend Notes of Magic to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic, old-world stories. It’s set in the future, but has that old-fashion charm and style."
What if Music and Magic were one?
