"Dream Waters is a breath of fresh air in the urban fantasy genre. It artfully blends reality and dreams into a waking daydream, one that lulls readers in. Like the Waters used to travel between the worlds, Dream Waters carries readers to strange realms but remains grounded in harsh reality. Delightful and tense, this is a fantastic start to a new series." - San Francisco Book Review

Ten Random Things Most People Don’t Know About Me
I took my time coming up with these ten useless facts about myself. I wanted to compile a list of things that most people in my life don’t even know about me (aside from my husband and siblings). After much reflection, here’s what I came up with:
- I took ballet lessons until I was in six grade. At that point, I finally came to the realization that I was not, nor would I ever be, graceful. I’m not sure why my parents didn’t save themselves a lot of money and clue me in to that sooner. Maybe they were hoping the lessons would make me less of a klutz. They did not, but I have plenty of other great qualities.
- I can’t whistle. It’s not for lack of trying when I was younger. If I haven’t figured it out by now, I’m afraid I’m doomed to die a non-whistler.
- I was obsessed with Wonder Woman when I was a kid. I had the lunch box, the bathing suit, Underoos, Halloween costume, placemat, cup and plate. I watched the television show with Lynda Carter and twirled around the living room like she did, and I was a die-hard Super Friends viewer on Saturday mornings. When the new Wonder Woman movie came out, I was psyched.
- I’ve never been brave enough to watch scary movies. My imagination is way too overactive. My husband somehow managed to talk me into watching the new Stephen King’s It at a local drive-in theater with our son recently, and I wasn’t as freaked out as I expected to be. Maybe years of watching The Walking Dead and Supernatural have desensitized me. I may have to test that theory at some point…but not today.
- I love nature but hate camping. I tried to tough it out and go hard-core tent camping in the Adirondacks with my husband and sons a few times, but we all came to the conclusion that it’s better for everyone if I stay home. What can I say? Running water, electricity and a comfy bed are my friends. Now when they go camping, I go shopping, out to eat and to the movies with a friend.
- I switched my major in college from pre-pharmacy to art history for a solid week until I went home for the weekend and my father squashed that plan. I’m okay with it now though. Being a part-time pharmacist and full-time author probably brings in more cash than art history would have. Plus, the whole writing thing keeps my artistic side happy.
- The beach is my ultimate happy place, but I don’t venture very far into the ocean because I’m afraid that a fish might touch me. Yes, I’m weird but I embrace it. Plant me in a beach chair where I can sink my toes in the sand and read a good book while the boys venture into the water and I’m in heaven.
- I had braces twice—once as a child and again as an adult. The second round of braces was to prep my teeth for jaw surgery. After the surgery, I spent five weeks with my jaw wired shut—longest five weeks of my life. Until then, I never noticed how much everyone talks about how delicious the food they’re stuffing into their faces is. By week five, I almost punched a waitress at a baby shower when she walked up with two plates of cake and asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate.
- My favorite character in the Hobbit movies was Smaug the dragon. I got chills sitting in the theatre watching that magnificent dragon on the big screen and imagining my dragons coming to life on screen one day.
- Peanut butter cups are like gold to me. My father is allergic to peanuts, so we never had peanut butter desserts in the house when I was growing up. When I was old enough to have a house of my own, every dessert I made was some variation of chocolate and peanut butter until we discovered that our younger son was allergic to peanuts. Our house is now a peanut-free zone because he’s more precious than gold. But whenever we get together with our friends, they feed me peanut butter cups. I love them for that.

Thanks, Lisa! Good luck with the contest. Thanks for following my tour!
Thanks again for having me. I love your blog! The updates are great—especially the Smaug video!! I know you're not supposed to root for the dragon in that movie, but what's not to love about a dragon with Benedict Cumberpatch's voice??
