ℚ Tooth for Tooth: Talion [2] - J.K. Franko

Today we have the pleasure of meeting up with author J.K. Franko to talk about Tooth for Tooth ( 2 April 2020, Talion Publishing, 418 pages), a Crime Thriller, book second in the Talion series.

"This is a cracking read and keeps the tension prevalent in Eye for Eye at just shy of breaking point. New characters are introduced. Actions are taken. Wheels are set in motion.

"a powerful piece of story-telling, and with Franko's attention to suspense, psychology, and criminal behavior, it's also impossible to put down."

"This series is absolutely riveting! Character personalities are vivid, you’re literally inside these people’s heads! You’ll be reading till dawn, refusing to put the book down."

A very warm welcome to returning author J.K. Franko; thank you for joining us on BooksChatter!

What compelled you to write Tooth for Tooth?

"The whole Talion series began with the idea of writing a book about getting away with murder.

Once I outlined the first book, Eye for Eye, I realized that to tell the whole story would require two more books. Tooth for Tooth is the second book of the Talion series. Book Three—Life for Life—will be out in July."
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating this book?
"I did not know that there is no central gun registration database. There is no list anywhere in the U.S. of handgun or firearm owners."
What has been your greatest challenge as a writer?
"I have too many ideas. As a result, I sometimes want to move on to the next project before finishing the last. But, you learn that there are different phases to writing a book. And with each book you need to slog through the work you dislike, then really relish the work you love."
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
"On the first book of the Talion series, I had an editor quit on me mid-project because they thought that the book might inspire others to commit murder. It was a very weird situation, and I guess sort of a backhanded compliment. My writing is good, but I don’t think it’s that good..."
Yes, I remember you mentioning that last year around Chapter 19; I have only just finished reading Eye for Eye and loved it so I remember vividly what you are referring to. Personally I think that if someone was that way inclined they would have sourced that info themselves; I thougth what you presented was very balanced. That editor should have read on!

What is in store next?

"Book Three—Life for Life—launches in July. Book Four is already in the works. And a new series is in production as well."
Tell us something your readers may not know about yourself?
" I published my first book in 2000."
What’s the most exciting thing that has happened to you?
"Meeting my wife."
If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day?

"With my family."
Thank you for sharing, and I look forward to reading Tooth for Tooth and Life for Life later this year!

I have this book on my Kindle waiting for me. I have seen nothing but rave reviews for both this book and the first one in the series. Now I just need to find more hours in the day to binge read them!!!!

Hi Cheryl! Book one is not for the faint hearted - murder and revenge are key.
