Synopsis

"In a far off corner of the world, people tell legends about a wise and gracious Queen Agatha who, for a while, reigned over the perfect society in which all people prospered,"

Thus begins The Legend of Queen Agatha, a unique literary offering combining an erotic Cinderella story with the tale of a medieval utopia worthy of Arthurian legend.

Agatha starts out much as Cinderella did, with the fate of the kingdom resting on her ability to identify her Prince Charming from among the crowds.

You will be carried away to the magical land of Xana, where Queen Julia rules as a typical medieval aristocrat while her teenage daughter, Princess Agatha, champions the commoners.

When the evil sorcerer Magi kills the queen and ravages her land and her people, Agatha is protected by her fairy godmother, who informs her that her Prince Charming will come, but he will not identify himself. It's up to the princess to find him and make love to him (just kissing is not enough) - and only him - if Magi is to be vanquished and the Bad Times dispelled.

Love is made, and the fairy tale continues.

But as soon as she breaks the evil spell and becomes queen of Xana, Queen Agatha insists upon her right to rule rather than stepping aside to become yet another "pampered palace ornament" of popular fairy tales. She is determined to fulfill her destiny of inspiring the good people of Xana to rebuild their ruined land into the greatest prosperity the world has ever known.

To achieve her vision Queen Agatha must carry out bold, radical actions. According to some versions of the legend, clothing is optional.

It’s up to you to decide which version you want to embrace in this smart political allegory with a distinctly modern flavor.

About the Author

Sam Cunningham is a small college physics teacher.

He knows from personal experience with his pupils that through nurturing nearly all young people can become productive citizens. It is an overwhelming tragedy that so many poor children are not given this nurturing. Their personal loss, and the loss to their country of their productive ability, is a catastrophe.

As a scientist he understands that critical thinking and the ability to follow where the evidence leads are the only reliable ways to understand the real world.

Away from work he leaves the real world of hard evidence to read science fiction and fantasy.

His favorite childhood movie was the Walt Disney 1950 cartoon of Cinderella, and he greatly admires strong women. Sam brings together all of these ingredients in this story of a princess who becomes a wise and inspired queen with a personal mission to achieve productivity, prosperity, and happiness for all of her people.
