Hello Debbie!  Welcome back to BooksChatter :-D

To start Debbie Peterson has shared with us her music playlist for Bound by Oath and Honour - enjoy!

What compelled you to write this particular story?
"I happened across a fascinating story about a World War I Captain named James Beck. During the battle at Gallipoli, as he and his men retreated, witnesses’ claim he and his men disappeared in a cloud of mist. According to the article, several searches were launched in an attempt to find these men. The only thing they ever found was Captain Beck’s watch. True or False? I don’t know, but that story inspired Bound by Oath and Honour."
How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"In all honesty, I can’t find anything of myself in this particular book except for perhaps Tala’s curiosity and burning need to know."
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating this book?
"The sighting of an actual wolf-like beast in the forest of Cannock Chase, that--according to several reliable witnesses--can stand up on its hind legs and run like a man. That tidbit made it into the story."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover. Can you tell us about your cover - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"Debbie Taylor, the very talented graphic artist created the cover for and in behalf of The Wild Rose Press. I specifically requested her since she did such a wonderful job in creating the covers for Spirit of the Knight and Court of the Hawk. The only thing I mentioned to her was that a portal was important to the story, and that if she used a model for Micah, I wanted him to look mysterious."
Why should we read Bound by Oath and Honour and what sets it apart from the rest? What makes your book unique?
"I suppose the single fact that I wrote it and had such fun writing it makes it unique! ;) The series is going to focus on a different guardian in each succeeding story. Each story will tell evolve and more questions will be answered."
Can you tell us something quirky about Bound by Oath and Honour, its story and characters?
"Tala, our heroine’s name, was chosen because it means wolf."
Who would you recommend Bound by Oath and Honour to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal/fantasy romance. Warnings and Disclaimers? This is a “sweet” romance, meaning there is no graphic sex or language, so if that’s what you’re looking for…ahem."
If you could / wished to turn Bound by Oath and Honour and the Bound by Oath and Honor series into a movie, who would be your dream team?
"If someone wanted to make this into a movie, I would hope they’d use the actual locations in Staffordshire and Romania. Director? How about Kenneth Branagh who has a wondrous, vivid imagination and could create a spectacular world where the guardians dwell. Eduardo Verástegui would make an awesome Micah, and Doutzen Kroes would make a perfect Tala."
What has been your greatest challenge as a writer?
"Those pesky untimely interruptions. But life happens and when it does--more often than not--my current WIP gets put on hold."
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
"I’m not one to get offended over criticism and believe me; I’ve had my fair share. Now having said that, I think my toughest criticism comes from those who dislike my writing “voice,” and advise me to dumb down the words a bit and make the words and sentences small and simple. For me, a thing easier said than done because I write the words in my head. My best compliment? They love my writing voice (go figure)."
What is in store next?
"I’m working on book two in the series. This particular book will focus on Levi and the female wolf hybrid he encounters. I’m also working on another Ghost/Mortal Romance concerning a soldier who died on D-Day during World War II."
And as a final quirky thing, to get to know you a little bit better... do you have a pet or something that is special to you that you could share with us?
"Nothing is more special or precious to me than my family, but that isn’t quirky! So, the quirky thing that is very special to me is our dear, sweet Shahar, who loves soda pop and anything else with sugar in or on it!"
Ahaha!  Families are good!  We have featured a few :-)  However, Shahar is gorgeous!  Thank you for sharing him with us :-)
