Synopsis

Blaine will do anything for the sake of Wendy, even if it’s against her wishes. She had quickly become a ray of light in his dark world and he had no plans of losing her. So when Red tells him that the deaths in town maybe related to her, Blaine accepts the case even after swearing never to work for the council again. He soon realizes there is more going on than the council had imagined and Wendy’s life was truly in danger. His fear of losing his new found love slowly becomes a reality as Blaine realizes his enemy is more powerful than he can handle.

Wendy is finally settling into her new life as a vampire. She enjoys spending her days exploring her new world with Blaine and attending school. Their peaceful life together is short lived. Blaine suddenly gets called upon by the Vampiric Council to capture a vampire leading a group that is causing a large amount of human deaths in the area. Wendy soon finds herself drawn into the chase upon discovering it has something to do with Theo, the vampire that assaulted her and turned her into a Half-Blood. For Blaine’s sake, she decides to push past her fear of her attack in order to find clues that may help him solve the mystery. The thing she is most frighten of is forever no longer meaning forever.

Teaser: Excerpt

The moon was barely peeking out behind the cloud cover. The night was quiet, the air was still, and I could smell him from the rooftop. He had to be close. The smell was repulsive, but I had to fight through it; I’d been following him for too long to give up now. I descended the fire escape, keeping my senses heightened. The watch on my right wrist said that it was 11: 30. He wasn’t going to turn her until 12: 00. I only had thirty minutes before he would disappear again. I only had thirty minutes to save her life. The anxiety would get my heart pumping if I still had one.
I released my grip on the ladder before I jumped off the fire escape railing. I fell at least two stories before I landed with only the sound of the soles of my shoes clicking against the damp concrete. My breath quickened as I strolled down the dimly lit alleyway. The entrance to the apartments was to my left. I pulled the door open and disappeared before it had time to close behind me. The smell was getting stronger. The sensation was burning down every nerve in my body. They were close. I could feel it.
This was my job. This was what my existence consisted of. I was tired of this lifestyle. I was tired of being the judge of my own kind when I deserved as much judgment as them. This would be my very last mission. So I had to go out with a bang. This guy was a monster who left sire-less younglings out to fend on their own and threaten our entire existence. On a lesser note, I’d be saving the life of an innocent girl. I couldn’t see her face in the visions. I could never see their faces; I guessed this was fortunate. I couldn’t deny my compulsion to ensure her safety, although I didn’t necessarily understand it.
      “Theo Gaincarlo, you’re mine tonight.”
