Synopsis

Georgia Richards lost hope of ever seeing her husband again since he disappeared over a year ago.

On a Saturday afternoon, she thought she saw him at a play, on stage at the Oaksdale Playhouse. But Georgia didn’t have the courage to find out if it was really him. Constance McCauley was empathetic to Georgia’s faint of heart and decided to offer her investigation services to find the true identity of this mysterious man.

Would Constance be able to track down Georgia’s estranged husband? If he was found, why had he been missing for over a year?

As Constance pursued this case with a combination of faith and persistence, she witnessed the power of forgiveness unfold before her eyes.

Author Q&A

What was the inspiration for Case File Phantom?
"For the past 10-years I have been having dreams about the plots within the C. McCauley Case Files. I knew I wanted to write these novels, and finally put pen to paper and published the first of this series."
How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"I can relate to the heroine Constance because of her curiosity. However, she is a lot more courageous than I am."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover. Can you tell us about your cover for Case File Phantom - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"The designer of my cover art depicted my thoughts about the C. McCauley Case Files series perfectly. The files fading into the background represent the future novels to come."
Why should we read Case File Phantom and what sets it apart from the rest? What makes your book unique?
"The C. McCauley Case Files series is special because each case explores our humanity and the consequences of our choices. Curiosity and compassion drives the plot development."
Can you tell us something quirky about Case File Phantom, its story and characters?
"The characters in this book were developed during my writing process. In fact, there were characters created that I did not have planned for in my initial writing outline."
Who would you recommend Case File Phantom to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"This is an entertaining read for both young adults all the way to seniors. It is a PG-13 type of book, so if you prefer an R rated read, this may be a good change."
What has been your greatest challenge as a writer?
"Finding time to write. I could really write all the time. However, I do have a full-time job, so I write on the weekends."
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
"It’s important to look at criticism objectively. I have been told that my writing is too simple. On the flip side, I have been praised for the simplicity of my writing style."
What is your writing process?
"Writing for me is fun. I usually write on the weekends while at home. I can be in any room to write and prefer to be near a window with natural light coming through."
