About the Author
K.J. Pierce is a jack of all trades. Her interests are varied enough to make this a requirement for a happy existence. Her main goal in life is to understand the human condition, which she explores through various mediums, including fiction, creative nonfiction, and script-writing.She sometimes succumbs to itchy-feet syndrome, a holdover from her Army Brat days. As a result, she can sometimes be found bouncing from locale to locale.
She earned a BA in English Literature/Creative Writing from Agnes Scott College and a MLitt in The Gothic Imagination from the University of Stirling, Scotland. She puts them to good use by crafting stories that run the gamut in terms of genres, but which always include an exploration of the societal misfit and the darkness which pervades all facets of life, even in the most comic of circumstances.
K.J. currently lives on the east coast of Central Florida with her cat Dorian Gray, who lives up to his name by striving to be the states most prolific lizard serial killer. Yours Truly is her first novel.

DeleteWhat books would you like to read in 2017? Thanks for the giveaway. I hope that I win. Bernie W BWallace1980(at)hotmail(d0t)com
ReplyDeleteGreat question, Bernie! There's generally nothing I won't read, so it's always a crap shoot as to what ends up on my list, but the top five of my TBR pile are: Due or Die by Jenn McKinlay, The Importance of Being Alice by Katie MacAlister, Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, The Turn by Kim Harrison, and 1950s American Style Reference Guide by Daniel Niemeyer. I still need to pick up the new Lestat novel by Anne Rice, but that's on my list, too. What's on your list to read this year?

DeleteHow many hours a day do you write?
ReplyDeleteHi, slehan. I'm afraid I'm not one of those writers who sticks to a daily writing schedule, so how often and how much I write at any given time is pretty well a crap shoot. I always swear I'm going to get on a schedule, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions, I've heard. :-) ~K.J. Pierce
DeleteWhen did you first start writing?
ReplyDeleteHi, Slehan - thanks for the additional question. :-) My parents encouraged reading from a very young age, and I was a creative kid, so making up stories was the norm, even if writing them down wasn't. The first story I remember actually writing was in Jr. High, co-written with two friends, and was about Menudo (if anyone remembers them... lol). I didn't take writing seriously until years later, when I was in my early 20s - prior to that I was too busy clubbing and hanging out with friends and going to concerts and just living life on full tilt. Finally started college at 28, and studied various forms of writing - my focus was on Creative Nonfiction and script writing (plays, tv, and film). It wasn't until the idea for Yours Truly hit me that I gave writing fiction any thought.
DeleteAnd no matter what, I can never tell a short story. :-) ~K.J. Pierce
I think this will be a fun book.
