Synopsis

Meredith Molloney never thought she’d find a mate, let alone someone like Donovan Murry—one of the most powerful Alphas alive. Now that she’s no longer cursed and the evil Luciana Alvarez has been taken care of, she thinks life will finally settle down. Boy, has she never been so wrong.

In the middle of the night, Donovan gets a call telling him that his pack has gone to pieces. The news that his second in command has been found brutally murdered has Donovan packing his bags for Ireland, but the last thing Meredith wants to do is leave Texas. She’s heard about how the Celtic Pack are with outsiders. And Donovan has more than a few exes in the pack that will be less than friendly.

Meredith’s never let a few angry wolves stop her, and she’s not about to start now. She’s faced down much worse the past few months. But when she gets there, she finds that it’s not just a few exes who stand in the way between her and her Full Moon Ceremony with Donovan.

Meredith is thrust in to a deadly game of pack politics, one the fey have happily joined in on. When the dust settles, she knows she’ll either have everything that she wants or lose it all.

Teaser: Excerpt

     “My court hears things," Cosette said. "Donovan’s pack was a mess before, and now that he’s mated, it will only get worse. Since you haven’t completed your bond to him yet…” She shook her head. “Trouble is brewing. I can’t tell you much more than that, but I wanted to at least warn you and leave you with a measure of protection.”
     “Okay. So a get out jail free card is what exactly?”
     “Open it.”
     I took the pouch and shook its contents into my hand. It held a single gold coin. One side was smooth as silk, and the other had a ring engraved with the phases of the moon.
     A Lunar court coin? “What does it do?”
     “Touch the coin and say where you want to go. It’ll take you there. Kind of like Dorothy and her silver shoes.”
     “Red.” Her shoes were definitely red.
     “Silver in the book. Red in that movie. But however you remember it is fine.”
     “I don’t think I’ll forget.”
     “Good. It’s a one-use enchantment, so be sure to use it wisely.”
     “I don’t know what to say.” I couldn’t thank her. That was a severe no-no with the fey. A thank you implied a debt, and the fey could claim what they were owed in a whole host of unsavory ways.
     “Promise me you’ll stay safe. You had my back in the chapel and this is the only thing I can do for you before I get packed off to hide.” Cosette gripped my arm. “If the Weres gang up on you, use the coin to get away.”
     That would work if things got really shady, but not under any normal circumstances. “I can’t just run away if I get challenged.”
     “Why not?”
     “I’d lose. I’d be a disgrace.”
     “You’d be alive.”
     My blood ran cold. “I’m not the highest rank in the pack, and until Donovan and I have our ceremony, I won’t be. If his pack wants me gone, they can probably make it happen. Running from a challenge would only delay that.” And it scared me how easy it might be.
     “Donovan will try to protect you, but he can’t see all the threats. You have to look for the truth.”
     “Either way, I’m glad to have some insurance.” I slid the coin back into the pouch and zipped it up. “This was really nice of you.”
     “I hope you never need it.”
     “Me, too.” I hoped she was wrong. Fighting to join a pack that didn’t want me seemed like the worst idea. But it was Donovan’s pack. If I wanted to be his mate—and I did—then I had to do what I had to do.
