A big welcome to Michelle Roethig, thank you for joining us on BooksChatter.

What was the inspiration for Dangerous Obsession?

"I was browsing the premade covers on TellTaleBookCovers by Linda Boulanger when I saw the cover I’m using for Dangerous Obsession.  The story played out like a movie in my head and I knew I had to write it."
How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"I was a dancer in high school and college, I was also stalked on a small level so I have a tiny bit of what Chloe experienced to work with.  It was more of an emotional baseline to start with and I went from there.  However, some of the women I danced with in college did have some experiences Chloe had . Having a creative mind, I rolled those experiences into one and gave Chloe some really bad moments."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover.  Can you tell us about your cover for Dangerous Obsession - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"Linda Boulanger of TellTale Book Covers is the artist.  She’s awesome.  The cover was a pre-made, as mentioned above, and I was drawn to it from the start.  After the story was written, I asked Linda to add more at the bottom, something people miss.  There is a girl in the bottom left and a hooded man in the bottom right in the shadows.   Eric and Chloe are the main characters, which is why they are front and center, but there is a third person after Chloe and that’s the hooded figure in the shadows."
Why should we read Dangerous Obsession and what sets it apart from the rest?
"This book is a clean romance, not riddled with sex or language.  To some, especially now days, it can be a let-down to read a book that doesn’t have graphic sex or language, but to others it can be refreshing.  My book stands apart from the rest because it proves you can have emotionally charged writing without having a book filled with graphic scenes."
Can you tell us something quirky about Dangerous Obsession, its story and characters?
"Chloe is named after a cute girl I met from California who, ironically, has chocolate brown hair.  I loved the name and it fit the character perfectly.  She wasn’t a dancer though."
Who would you recommend Dangerous Obsession to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"This book is a sweet romance, so there isn’t any graphic sex scenes and I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a love story.  However, if you’ve ever been stalked you may be sensitive to some subject matter.  Chloe finds herself the victim of a pretty serious stalker who will stop at nothing to find her.

There are also scenes of war and flashbacks as Eric, our hero, deals with life back home while trying to keep Chloe safe."

If you could / wished to turn Dangerous Obsession and the Taylor Family Saga series into a movie, who would be your dream team?
"I’ve been asked this several times and the only actor I can even come up with is Mike Vogel. He’d make a great Eric. I can’t decide on my perfect Chloe."
What do you like to write and read about?  Do you stick to a particular genre or do you like to explore different ones?
"My first full length novel is a YA fantasy fiction is about Elementals.  Raine was published in November 2014 before my publisher went out of business and I self-published it in May 2015.  I’m currently working on the sequel, Autumn.  I don’t know if I have a particular genre I stick with per-se, I usually write what comes to mind.  I have a few picture or songs that really speak to me and make the story come to life.  One particular story that runs over and over currently is a historical romance and that I hope to write as soon as I’m done with my Elemental Series.  I do read all these genres."
What is your writing process?
"Typically I like to write a brief synopsis so I know where I want the story to go.  Then I follow that with an outline to keep me on track.  Then I dive into an outline.  My outline will constantly change, but it keeps in going in the right direction."
What is in store next?
"Dangerous Obsession was the last in the series, so-to-speak.  I’d written a short story about Parker, Eric’s twin, a year ago, and wanted to write the story of Eric and Chloe.  Reflections, Parker’s story, is included at the end of Dangerous Obsession.  What’s next for me is Autumn, the sequel to Raine. Finishing my Elemental Series is what’s on the table for now."
