A very warm welcome to Rain Grey; thank you for joining us on BooksChatter!

What was the inspiration for Vampire Creed?

"I love unconventional love stories of any kind.  My hope was to write the Dracula story as much as possible."
How much of yourself is reflected in this book, and how?
"I think the heroine is a strong person who can take on great challenges and eventually win her love. The hero was supposed to be representative of the classic knight in shining armour. Brave to a fault."
The first thing that draws me to a book is its cover. Can you tell us about your cover for Vampire Creed - why you chose that concept and who the artist is.
"I told my designer that I wanted a couple on the front. The purple colour was similar to some other designs I saw on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It took a few changes but we got it right in the end."
Why should we read Vampire Creed and what sets it apart from the rest? What makes your book unique?
"It’s supposed to be a metaphor for how we should see passed our differences in order to find true happiness. Wendy and Barnaby have a lot tearing them apart not least his vampire heritage yet they came together as a loving couple."
Can you tell us something quirky about Vampire Creed, its story and characters?
"Wendy’s character is based on a friend of mine from school.

Dracula is my influence for the main story. So was Interview with the Vampire. "
Who would you recommend Vampire Creed to and what should readers be aware of (any warnings or disclaimers)?
"There is some vampiric violence. It is a new adult story so preferably no underage readers."
If you could / wished to turn Vampire Creed into a movie, who would be your dream team?
"Director – Jon Favreau
Wendy – Lilly Collins
Barnaby – Tom Ellis (may be a bit old but still gorgeous!)"
What do you like to write and read about? Do you stick to a particular genre or do you like to explore different ones?
"I love anything associated with paranormal romance. So ghosts, witches, shape shifters. I read anything and everything. My favourite book of all tine is actually Wuthering Heights."
What is your writing process?
"I have a full time job so I write in the mornings for an hour and a half before work and a few hours at the weekend."
What is in store next?
"I am currently writing a ghost story with a twist. A bit M. Nightish."
And as a final quirky thing, to get to know you a little bit better... do you have a pet or something that is special to you that you could share with us?
"I used to have a dog called Elsa. She was a Yorkshire Terrier whom I absolutely adored. She died a few years ago but I think about her every so often."
They do stay with you.  It's exactly the same for my mum who also had a Yorkshire Terrier :-)
